Jameson Wells is a baritone currently pursuing his Masters in vocal pedagogy from New England Conservatory. Recently, he was the bass soloist in Handel's Messiah with the Cathedral Church of St. Paul, Boston and the First Congregational Church, Manchester. Last spring, he appeared in NEC’s productions of The Marriage of Figaro (Antonio) at the Paramount Theater and Gianni Schicchi (Notaio) at the Huntington Theater. He was featured as the Wolf in NEC’s Outreach Opera, Little Red Riding Hood, which was presented to elementary schools throughout Boston. His portrayal of the Baron in Leonard Bernstein’s Candide gave him his Jordan Hall debut. In addition to his involvement in NEC’s opera program, Jameson performed in the art song Liederabend series in 2019.
As a concert soloist, Jameson has performed with Berkshire Choral International and the Sonoma (CA) Symphony (2016) in their performance of Handel’s Israel in Egypt. He performed at the Lougheed Festival of the Arts at Carnegie Hall (2016), where he was a soloist in Vaughan William’s Serenade to Music and Gary Fry’s Awake Celestial Airs. At that same festival, Jameson was honored to serve as cover to Mr. Christopher Feigum in Fauré’s Requiem. Most recently, he was featured with the Manchester Choral Society in their performance of Chilcott’s Wenceslas (2017).
